Hello, I’m Jane.
Let’s face it, I’d much rather we got to know one another over pizza or a glass of wine but our internet providers don’t facilitate that quite yet so, in the mean time, it’s nice to sort-of meet you.
I’m a Zimbabwean-born South African dividing my time between New York City and the rest of the world. Currently I work on Eos, the world’s most beautiful yacht, am chef to the amazing Diane von Furstenberg in New York, and I'm also working on a couple of collaborative projects that I’m really excited about.
For most of my adult life I have been lucky to have experienced such wonderful things; from traveling to exotic locations, meeting wonderful people and eating the most gorgeous food.
One of the things I love most about food, is that it connects each of us in such a special way. Wherever you are in the world you will always find people eating and enjoying food. It’s been a way to connect with family, friends and even strangers from all over.
Of course some of us like to eat and some of us like to cook but I’m a big fan of both and I believe in making each activity as enjoyable as possible. I make food that is simple and unfussy, from a bunch of ideas and tips I’ve picked up along the way. I’m so pleased to be able to share these with you as recipes.
I think it’s important to nourish our amazing bodies as best we can, but I don’t make health-food - just real food that’s generally pretty healthy. My book “Fresh Happy Tasty” is filled with the food I feed my guests, my fellow crew mates and my friends.
I hope that “Fresh Happy Tasty” will be a go-to book for when you want an idea, whether for a dinner party or a simple lunch on your own. I sincerely hope it will become one of your best friend's in the kitchen.
